OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH POLICY STATEMENT

As responsible engineers and managers, WAPC Construction PTY LTD is acutely aware of its statutory and moral obligations to ensure that the safety of employees and subcontractors is provided for and always maintained. WAPC employees and subcontractors share responsibility with management to ensure the safe wellbeing of themselves and other persons in the workplace and for ensuring that no-one is allowed to work in an unsafe situation or manner.

 

WAPC is committed to encouraging consultation and co-operation at all levels within the organisation relating to safety and health issues. WAPC have a firm commitment to “zero lost time” injury frequency rate. Any aspect of the company’s safety and health procedures which is not clearly understood must be brought to the attention of the appointed supervisor and when appropriate, to a Safety and Health Representative and/or Committee. WAPC is committed to building a team attitude to safety and training and will promote regular meetings between staff and employees where all matters of health, safety and welfare can be discussed in a co-operative environment. Adequate resources for the implementation of all facets of our policy will be made available as required. Actual expenditure will be reviewed on an annual basis.

The management of WAPC is responsible for implementing this policy throughout all operational areas and the company will ensure that safety and health considerations will always be given priority in planning and day to day supervision of work.

The operation of this policy and identification of safety training requirement for all employees of WAPC will be monitored by the undersigned who is directly responsible for ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Act 1986, approved Codes of Practice and associated
health and safety regulations. This policy will be explained to each employee at induction training and in addition will be displayed in all company offices.
